The Armenian National Agrarian University

The Armenian National Agrarian University (ANAU) is the only higher educational institution specialized in agrifood system in our country and celebrates the 90 th anniversary of its foundation in 2020. Through its 5 departments Agronomy, Veterinary Medicine and Animal Husbandry, Food Technologies, Agrarian Engineering, and Agribusiness and Economics, ANAU is offering more than 30 specialties of modern three-level higher education in agriculture, agribusiness and related sectors.

There are 3 branches of the university in Sisian, Vanadzor and Gyumri.

The university also offers several international educational programs: Agribusiness Teaching Center (jointly with Texas A&M University), Agrarian Management MS Program (jointly with Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences), EVN Wine Academy (jointly with Geisenheim university), as well as is very actively involved in European and international faculty and student exchange.

ANAU uses the powerful potential of its faculty to address the radical structural and curricular reforms. ANAU has been continuously broadening its international cooperation with leading US, European and CIS universities, with a large number of students and instructors being actively engaged in international exchange programs. In order to develop agriculture, to increase competitiveness and productivity, it is necessary to make a transition from traditional to innovative technologies. The university is successfully implementing its vision of becoming an Agritech center for excellence with the new curricula and course programs, methods of teaching, the new quality of student-faculty relationships, technological re-equipment of teaching and experimental farms, upon fundamentally modernized laboratory facilities.

The Armenian National Agrarian University (ANAU) joined The Program Coordination Platform for Sustainable Management of RA’s Natural Fodder Areas: Pastures and Grasslands on August 17, 2018, as a partner organization.
