The 7th Workshop of the Coordination Platform for Sustainable Management of RA’s Natural Fodder Areas took place

On the 9th of June of 2020, the 7th Workshop of the Coordination Platform for Sustainable Management of RA’s Natural Fodder Areas was held in the online format. Among the workshop participants were representatives of various ministries related to the sector, local and international non–governmental organizations, as well as international and scientific institutions.

At the beginning of the online workshop, Mr. Ashot Giloyan, the head of the Local government policy department of the RA Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure and Mr. Davit Mejlumyan, Project Manager of CARMAC-2 under the Agricultural Projects’ Implementation Department of the RA Ministry of Economy, welcomed the participants and wished them fruitful work. Taking into account the existing difficulties, the speakers welcomed the initiative of organizing the workshop online and highlighted the importance of the Platform’s activities aimed at developing a concept paper for the sustainable management of pastures in Armenia.

During the workshop, the current state of the concept paper for the sustainable management of pastures in Armenia, the Platforms work plan for 2020, and activities related to it were presented. The manual developed by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), Environmental programme on Improvement of Degraded Natural Grazing Lands (pastures and grasslands) has also been presented during the event.

The Coordination Platform for Sustainable Management of RA’s Natural Fodder Areas is a joint initiative of the Strategic Development Agency (SDA) NGO, Integrated Biodiversity Management in the South Caucasus Program implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), Environmental programme and CARMAC II project implemented by the RA Ministry of Economy with the support of the World Bank.
